Working Principle

The working principle of eddy current sensors is based on electromagnetic induction. When the sensor coil generates an alternating magnetic field, eddy currents are induced in the conductive target (such as a rotating shaft).

These eddy currents will generate a magnetic field opposite to the original magnetic field, thereby changing the inductance in the sensor coil. By measuring changes in inductance, the distance between the target and the sensor can be accurately measured.
