Product Description:
The IS220PPRFH1A includes a processor board that is shared by all Mark VIe distributed I/O modules and an acquisition carrier board that is outfitted with a Hilscher GmbH COM-C Profibus communication module. The COM-C module provides a PROFIBUS RS-485 interface via a DE-9 D-sub receptacle connector. The IS220PPRFH1A functions as a PROFIBUS DP master, with transmission rates ranging from 9.6 KBaud to 12 MBaud and up to 125 slaves, each with 244 bytes of inputs and outputs. Other I/O packs use the same dual I/O Ethernet connection configuration.
The IS220PPRFH1A supports the following redundancy options:
- Hot backup: Two PPRFs are used, one as the active PROFIBUS master communicating with slave devices and the other in a passive, stand-by mode, ready to become the active master in the event of an active master failure.
- Redundant I/O: Two PPRFs are used, each with its own set of slave devices. This option provides redundancy for the I/O itself, in addition to the redundancy for the PROFIBUS master.
The IS220PPRFH1A is a powerful and versatile PROFIBUS Master Gateway pack that can be used in a variety of industrial automation applications.
