The IC683CBL301 is a bus expansion cable that is part of the S0-30 series product family, previously offered by GE Fanuc ALutomaton and currently owned by Emerson Automaton. .
The cable is primarily used to enable IO expansion by interconnecting the expansion or remote backboard to the expansion port of the CPU backboard using the IC693CBL301
cable. The cable is also known as a star cable with one (1) 25-pin connector at one end and one (1) male and one (1]) female 25-pin connector at the other end. The IC653CBL301has a cable length of 6 feet or 2 meters with continuous shielding. When connecting this cable, the 25-pin connector is connected to the CPU expansion port located on the farright. The male connector of the cable is connected to a 25-pin female connector located on the far left side of the extension or remote baseplate. The bare 25-pin connector can be used to connect to another IV 0 bus extension for further interconnection, or to a terminator plug to close the IV 0 bus. A single 90-30 series system can use up to seven (7)cable instances. The maximum total cable length between the CFU baseboard and the last expansion baseboard must not exceed 50 feet or 15 meters, or the length from the CPU to the last remote baseboard must not exceed 700 feet or 213 meters. An unterminated expansion bus or IV 0 bus length exceeding the recommended measurement value will cause instability in communication and 0 data exchange.
A maximum of seven expansion cables are supported when CPU 350-364 is used, while a maximum of four expansion cables are allowed when CPU 331-314 is used.
The IC693CBL301 extension cable is installed, exceeding the specified cable length, which can cause unstable operation in the 90-30 series PLC system, therefore, this situation should be avoided. Users should always verifty the specifications of the components within the system. In addition, in the extended system, users can use up to seven compatible cables. The maximum allowable cable length between the CPU backboard and the final remote backboard is 700 feet, and the cable length between the CPU backboard and the final expansion board is 50 feet.
