The TRICONEX system fully complies with the IEC61508/61511 standard and adopts the most advanced TMR microprocessor hardware technology and mature and reliable TRISTATION 1131 software for a triple redundant error tolerance control system. The system has high reliability and high utilization rate, and is widely used in industries such as petrochemical, refining, oil and gas, chemical, power, rail transit, aerospace, nuclear industry, etc. It has extensive performance in device safety interlocking system ESD, steam turbine control, gas turbine control, compressor anti surge control, offshore oil platforms, fire and gas monitoring and protection (F&G), etc.
The biggest feature of the TRICONEX system is its ability to simultaneously meet the fault-tolerant control requirements of high reliability and high availability. To ensure high reliability and availability of the system, the controller, I/O module, and communication all adopt a triple design. The control system can identify faults in control system components, automatically eliminate faulty components, and allow online repair of faulty components without interrupting the process while continuing to complete specified tasks. Any faults and related data are stored in NVRAM. In case of any channel failure in the I/O module, the system guarantees that the module can maintain operation for 1500 hours and still meet TUV AK6 level.
The TRICONEX safety control system is the most advanced fault-tolerant controller based on the Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) structure. TMR is a control system that integrates three isolated and parallel operations, and performs extensive diagnostics in each independent control system. The system adopts a two out of three logical voting method, providing highly comprehensive, error free, and uninterrupted process operations, which will not cause system failure due to single point failures.
The MP controller adopts three independent channels, each of which executes the application program independently in parallel with the other two channels. All digital input/output signals from the field are voted on through a patented hardware voter, while analog signals are processed through intermediate value selection. Because each channel is isolated from other channels, a single point of failure in any channel will not affect the other channels. If a hardware failure occurs in one channel and other channels ignore it. During this period, the controller can easily plug and replace faulty modules online without interruption.
The use of the system is very simple because from the user’s perspective, the operation of the TMR system is the same as that of a single channel control system. Users can connect sensors and actuators to a single wiring terminal by writing a set of application logic, and the rest of the work is managed and processed by the control system.
The system extensively diagnoses each independent sub circuit, module, and functional circuit, monitors and reports operational errors. All diagnostic information in the application and operation is stored. These diagnostic data can be used by programmers to modify the execution of the controller or directly perform process maintenance.
