The PROSOFT PLX31-EIP-MBS Enhanced Comm Module is a communication interface module for CompactLogix and MicroLogix processors. It allows these processors to communicate with a variety of Ethernet and serial devices. The module has two fully isolated serial ports and one Ethernet port. The serial ports can be used to communicate with Modbus RTU, ASCII, and DF1 slaves. The Ethernet port can be used to communicate with Modbus TCP/IP slaves, as well as other Ethernet devices such as HMIs and PCs.
The PLX31-EIP-MBS module is a single-slot module that is compatible with the 1769 backplane. It is recognized as an Input/Output (I/O) module by the processor, which allows for easy data transfer between the module and the processor. The module can be programmed using ladder logic, and it supports all CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 LRP controllers except 1769-L23E-QBFC1B, 1769-L16x, and 1769-L18x.
